CA Senate Bill 51 of 2013 (Wright) - Internet Gambling
California SB 51 proposes to enact Business and Professions Code
sections 19990.01 through 19990.96, comprising “The Internet Gambling Consumer Protection and Public-Private
Partnership Act of 2013.”
Among its proposals, SB 51 would establish a framework to
authorize intrastate internet gambling, authoring eligible entities to apply to
the California Gambling Control Commission for a 5-year license to operate an
intrastate internet gambling web site.
SB 51 would prohibit the offer or play of any gambling game provided
over the interest not authorized by the state under this bill. The license applicant would have to pay an
application deposit to the Commission to be deposited into the Internet
Gambling Licensing Fund created by SB 51.
